Mr John Prionidis PhD FRCS
Consultant Vascular Surgeon
Mr Prionidis is a consultant vascular surgeon with 24 years' experience. He trained in vascular and general surgery in Greece and the United Kingdom, was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and has been a consultant at the Regional Vascular Unit of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust since 2012.
He broadened his expertise as a Visiting Vascular Fellow at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Medical Centre in New York.
He later earned a PhD for research into intermittent pneumatic compression and the venous haemodynamics of the lower limb. His work has been widely published, and he is a founding member of the International Compression Club's working group on intermittent pneumatic compression.
Today his private practice is devoted entirely to venous disease. He is a member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland, the European Society for Vascular Surgery and the British Association of Sclerotherapists, and he personally oversees every stage of each patient's care.
